About Me
My Background
I am a coppice worker with eighteen years of experience working in several woods in Gloucestershire. I teach green woodworking at the GL11 Community Hub in Cam and have been a spoon carving tutor for the last six years. I feel really blessed to be able to work in such a beautiful environment. Though perhaps less so when the rain is dripping down my neck! It is a personal joy to pass on my skills to other people. There is a growing spoon carving community in the UK. It is a wonderful hobby whether you carve alone in the woods or in the company of like-minded souls. However you are placed: come to the woods, breathe deeply and create something beautiful.

Beginners spoon carving courses.
I run a course once a month that is suitable for beginners. In the winter we will be at Sherston Village Hall and in the summer at Westonbirt Arboretum in the Silk Wood Barn as well as The Woodyard in Tetbury. I provide tools and raw materials. You start with a log of wood and go home with a spoon. The cost is £75 for the day and includes tea, coffee and cake. You bring your own lunch.
Not able to travel to me? Then why not have a get together at your own home, or village hall, for you and your friends. Contact me for details.

Spoon Club
A relaxed get together, once a month, for those who already have some experience spoon carving. 10:30 – 4:30 on a Sunday. Tea, coffee, and cake provided, please bring your own lunch. There is no formal teaching but I often give demos and advice. Green wood is available each time. Tools and carving blocks available to use on the day.
Cost £10 per session.
